If you want to take attention away your bust it’s best to avoid volume and detail in that area. Emphasise your waistline to create shape and
definition below your bust. Wrap tops and dresses are perfect for dividing and separating the bust and pulling in the waist to define your shape. Wide scoop
necks and V-necks help create an open space between the chin, neck and bust. A long-line fitted shirt or jacket will elongate the body and give shape at the
waist without adding additional bulk to the chest. Batwing sleeves, shown with this printed blouse in the fashionable new blouson shape, are also a great way
to distract the eye.
Your instinct is to hide your bottom under loose fitting clothes but that’s the worst thing you can do. Swathes of ill-fitting fabric will
just draw attention to your least favourite area! Far better to find skirts and trousers that fit well. Wide legged trousers that hang away from the bottom
will help give a smooth line rather than cupping the buttocks. Similarly, flared bias cut skirts that kick out from the thighs create shape below your bottom
rather than on it. This season’s wrap jersey dresses are perfect for you – nipped in at the waist with fabric draping away from your middle creating a
welcome distraction!
Most of us worry about having too few or too many curves, but follow a few simple rules and you can create curves in all the right places.
Wrap tops, for example, create the illusion of curves and add definition when fastened at the side. As with wrap tops, a wrap dress gives the impression of
shaping and definition at the waist. A waisted jacket will naturally flare out over the hips creating shape. A boxy jacket will make you look shapeless. And
a great pair of heels will always work wonders. They don’t have to high; this summer we have medium height strappy sandals and wedges that are fabulously
comfortable.
